International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition

The International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR) is a biennial international scientific conference on the subjects of character and symbol recognition, handwriting and text recognition , graphic analysis and recognition, document analysis and understanding, document-based forensics, and camera and video-based text scene analysis.

ICDAR is sponsored by the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

history

The ICDAR has been held every two years since 1991. The venue is different every year: the conference was moved to Nancy, France at short notice due to the attack in Tunis and the attack in Port El-Kantaoui in 2015 .
