The International Horticultural Exhibition in 1869 took place in Hamburg .

exhibition

The exhibition was inspired by previous horticultural and agricultural exhibitions. It was the first international horticultural exhibition on German soil. The grounds of the Stintfang and the Old Elbe Park were used for this . The horticultural planning was carried out by Friedrich Jürgens , the exhibition halls were designed by Martin Haller . Exhibitors from 11 nations took part, even if the exhibition itself only lasted 11 days.

aftermath

The exhibition was followed in Hamburg by the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1897 , the Low German Garden Show in 1935, the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1953 , the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1963 and the International Garden Show in 2013 .
