The International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein is a privately owned training center for professional musicians based in Düsseldorf . The premises of the International Music Academy, named after the Russian pianist, composer and pedagogue Anton Rubinstein , are located in the listed baroque Goldener Helm house in Düsseldorf's old town.

The academy was founded in 2002 by Michael Blatow and Marc Heinersdorff in Düsseldorf. It offers individually configurable study options, from preliminary studies to comprehensive artistic training, qualifying postgraduate studies, private lessons and master classes in the subjects of composition, piano , singing , violin , viola , cello and other orchestral instruments.

In addition to the Academy's study certificates , the state-recognized Master of Music degree has also been offered since 2012 in cooperation with the Italian conservatoires Conservatorio Giacomo Puccini in La Spezia and Conservatorio Agostino Steffani in Castelfranco Veneto . The German-Italian business association MERCURIO recognized the importance of such a binational course in May 2014 with the special award for “German-Italian intercultural achievements”.

The Academy has been a member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen since 2015 . In the same year the cooperation with the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland began for the state-recognized Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees .

Since 2016, the academy has also been cooperating with the master's program at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg (Fontys University of Applied Sciences, School of Fine and Performing Arts).

Competitions

The academy organizes international competitions for violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, piano, voice, chamber music as well as junior competitions for violin, cello and piano.
