The International University of Rabat ( Arabic الجامعة الدولية للرباط, DMG al-Ǧāmiʿa ad-dawliyya lir-Ribāṭ , Central Atlas Tamazight ⵜⴰⵙⴷⴰⵡⵉⵜ ⵜⴰⴳⵔⴰⵖⵍⴰⵏⵜ ⵏ ⵕⵕⴱⴰⴹ Tasdawit Tagraɣlant n Ṛṛbaḍ , French Université Internationale de Rabat , UIR for short) is a top Moroccan university and grande école in public-private sponsorship ( PPP ). It was founded on the initiative of Moroccan academics with the involvement of the Moroccan royal family. It is open to Moroccan and foreign students of both sexes.
The foundation stone was laid in September 2010 by King Mohammed VI . The campus is located on the site of a technology park ( Technopolis ), which is not in the urban area of Rabat , but of its sister city Salé . The 20 hectare campus was incorporated into the PPP by the royal family. A state-of-the-art university town has since been built on the property. The interior design is reminiscent of the Uni Mail campus of the University of Geneva .
The university charges a comparatively high tuition fee of 68,000 dirhams plus 18,000 dirhams for accommodation on campus. In line with international standards, 20% of students receive tuition waiver.
Study programs
The IUR is divided into eight departments (pôles):
- Electrical engineering, logistics, IT and telecommunications
- Political Science and Law
- Business administration, management, finance and accounting
- Aeronautics, space travel, automobiles, shipbuilding and railroad construction
- Renewable Energy and Petrochemicals
- Architecture and design
- Languages, cultures and civilizations
In cooperation with international partner institutions such as the ESC Rennes School of Business , it offers BA and MA courses with double degrees as well as preparatory courses (Classes préparatoires) for admission to the Grande Ecole program .
