International film
International film (in the Anglo-American language area: World Cinema) is a term that is used in English-speaking countries to denote films and film industries from non-English-speaking countries. The term is also often used to denote the foreign film in a country (i.e. the films of all countries except one's own), whereby the language does not play a role.
International Film (World Cinema)
In order to promote cross-border distributions and, with a view to globalization and the growing together of the enlarged European Union, to stimulate interest in regional films and their topics, international film awards and numerous film festivals attempt to draw attention to these and arouse curiosity. American independent productions are also often shown at festivals in the "International Film" category.
