International Day of People with Disabilities
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December each year: (also International Day of Disabled Persons is) one of the United Nations exclaimed commemoration and action , which the public awareness of the problems of people with disabilities keep alive and commitment to promote the dignity, rights and well-being of these people.
history
After the United Nations celebrated 1981 as the “ International Year of the Disabled ”, an action plan for the needs of disabled people was developed in December 1982. The years 1983 to 1993 were proclaimed the "decade of disabled people".
At the end of the decade, the General Assembly of the United Nations passed Resolution 62/127, which proclaimed December 3rd as the “ International Day of Disabled Persons” . It was first committed in 1993.
In December 2007, the day of remembrance was renamed “ International Day of Persons with Disabilities ”.
