The Internazionale Football Club Torino ( Internazionale Torino for short ) was an Italian football club from Turin . The club was founded in 1891 and was created as a merger of two Turin clubs founded in 1887: Torino Football and Cricket Club and Nobili Torino . This makes Internazionale the oldest Italian football club, as it was the first sports club to devote itself solely to football.

The team also played the first friendly match between two Italian football clubs . On January 6, 1898 Internazionale Torino played against CFC Genoa on the Campo di Ponte Carrega in Genoa . Internazionale won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Savage. The game was able to mobilize 208 spectators, the total income amounted to 101.45 lire .

Internazionale and Genoa 1893 were the two best and oldest Italian clubs at the time. When the Italian football championship was played for the first time in 1898 , the two teams met in the final. In contrast to the friendly match, this time CFC Genoa won 2: 1 by n.V. In 1899 the two teams met in the final and this time the winner was CFC Genoa, here the Genoese won 3: 1.

In 1900 the team merged with FC Torinese , the new team kept the name FC Torinese. In 1906, after the union of some players from Juventus Turin , the Football Club Torino, today FC Turin .
