Intimities is a documentary by Lukas Schmid, shot in 2003 on a finca on Mallorca .

Lukas Schmid accompanies the shooting of a gay porn with his camera and tries to capture the atmosphere in the team and the emotional closeness (better: distance) of the actors. He successfully tries to keep sexual acts out of his pictures. This creates the impression that the shooting in this genre does not differ from that of other film genres: detailed rehearsal of the storylines by modestly dressed actors, hours of waiting for a few minutes of "action" and hardly any contact between the producers and the actors. However, this impression of “normality” runs counter to the documented statement of an actor who is happy not to have to see bare skin at the end of the shooting.

In the reason for the award of the German Young Talent Award First Steps 2003 in the “Documentary Films” category, jury member Gerd Ruge said: “As a filmmaker of a new type, one-man team, camera, sound and author all rolled into one, he has little Budget made a great movie. Lukas Schmid looked into what seemed to be a holiday idyll where others were making a film. The protagonists are selected according to the catalog, they come across as strangers to each other, and instead of assholes and cocks, they are young men who have heard the cry of “Looking for a superstar” or “Becoming a very easy model”. Between casual prostitution on the one hand and the search for closeness on the other, they want to live out their hope in whatever way. "
Awards
The Swiss filmmaker Lukas Schmid won the First Steps Award 2003 for the best documentary film with his first film “Intimitäten” and has been a guest at numerous festivals.
