The hamlet of Intschi

Intschi is a district of Gurtnellen in the Swiss canton of Uri .

The settlement is located on the cantonal road 5 km north of the main town of the municipality at 657  m above sea level. M. in the valley of the Reuss on its orographic left side and 3 km south of the district of Amsteg of the municipality of Silenen .

The canton road runs in this section of the valley between Amsteg and Meitschligen on the left side of the river and leads through Intschi. In this area, the Gotthard motorway changes over the Intschibrücke to the other side of the valley.

At Intschi there is still a stop of the Gotthard Railway , but no trains stop there (more on this in the main article on Gurtnellen ). Below Intschi, the Gotthard Railway runs over the river on the Intschireuss Bridge .

At the Auto AG Uri bus stop is the valley station of the Intschi-Arnisee aerial cableway (LIA), which takes you to the Arnisee , 711 m higher on a mountain terrace , in seven minutes .
