Ioachim Moldoveanu (* 1913 in Marosújvár , Austria-Hungary ; † July 31, 1981 ) was a Romanian football player . He played 111 games in the highest Romanian soccer league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1938 World Cup.

Career as a player

Moldoveanu began his career in 1934 with Ceramica Bistrița in the newly formed Divizia B , the second highest division in Romania. After just one season he left the club again and joined CFR Bucharest (later Rapid Bucharest) to that in the Divizia A played. He remained loyal to the club until the end of his active career in 1948 - apart from an interruption in the 1946/47 season, where he played for Grivița CFR Bucharest in Divizia B. Although he could not win a championship, he won the Romanian Cup six times in a row from 1937 to 1942 - a record unattained to this day.

National team

Moldoveanu was used in eleven games for the Romanian national team from 1937 to 1943 , but did not score a goal. He made his debut on June 27, 1937 against Sweden . A year later, national coach Alexandru Săvulescu nominated him for the World Cup in France , where he was used in the replay against Cuba .

In 1948, supervised Moldoveanu for a short time the team of CFR Bucharest in the Divizia A .
