Ion Marinescu

Ion Marinescu (born June 11, 1928 in Rădeşti , Stâlpeni , Argeş district ) is a former Romanian politician of the Romanian Communist Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) and from 1965 PCR (Partidul Comunist Român) .

Life

Ion Marinescu became a member of the then Romanian Communist Party PCR (Partidul Comunist din România) in January 1946 and graduated in 1954 with a degree in metallurgy at the Polytechnic Institute in Kiev as an engineer. From 1954 to February 1955 he was foreman and head of the Siemens-Martin furnace and from February 1955 to February 1956 chief dispatcher- engineer of the technical directorate of the Hunedoara steel combine (Combinatul Siderurgic Hunedoara) . Afterwards he was briefly head of the economic section of the Hunedoara party committee between February and June 1956 and in June 1956 became deputy head of the economic commission of the party committee in the Hunedoara district . He then became Vice Minister for Heavy Industry on August 1, 1960 and, on October 31, 1963, in the Maurer I cabinet, succeeded Constantin Tuzu as Minister of Metallurgy (Ministrul Industriei Metalurgice) . He also held this ministerial office in Cabinet Maurer II , Cabinet Maurer III and Cabinet Maurer IV until March 13, 1969.

At the Ninth Party Congress of the PCR (July 19 to 24, 1965) he also became a candidate for the Central Committee of the PCR and held this position until August 1969.
