Iput I was a queen of the ancient Egyptian 6th dynasty . She was a daughter of Pharaoh Unas , the last ruler of the 5th dynasty and the wife of Pharaoh Teti II , the founder of the 6th dynasty. The only known child from this marriage is Tetis heir to the throne Pepi I.

For Iput I was north grave conditioning her husband a Mastaba built, which I subsequently into a Queens during the reign of Pepi pyramid was redesigned. The building has a side length of 21 m and was discovered by Victor Loret in 1898 . For a long time it was disputed whether this tomb was actually a pyramid. Only new excavations, which began in 1995 under the direction of Zahi Hawass , could confirm this. The burial chamber was not robbed, in addition to numerous grave goods, bone fragments from Iput I's body were found.
