Aidan Dodson
Aidan Mark Dodson (born September 11, 1962 in London ) is a British Egyptologist .
Life
After the completion of the Grammar School in Langley , Berkshire Dodson in 1981 first began to study at the University of Durham and moved in 1982 to the University of Liverpool , where he in 1985 with a Bachelor (Bachelor Honors) in professional archeology of the Eastern Mediterranean (Archeology of the Eastern Mediterranean) . This was followed by a degree in Egyptology and Museum Practice at the University of Cambridge , which he completed in 1986 with a master’s degree. In 1995 he received his doctorate . In 1996 Dodson went to the University of Bristol as a Visiting Fellow . In 2005 he became a Research Fellow at the Department of Archeology & Anthropology there . He has been a Senior Research Fellow since 2009 .
Dodson's main research interests include burial practice and the dynastic history of ancient Egypt , the history of Egyptology and the royal tombs of Europe . He is a member of several Egyptological organizations and has been chairman of the Egypt Exploration Society since 2011 . Dodson is also an associate editor of the popular science magazine KMT. A Modern Journal of Ancient Egypt .
