Irena Lunskienė

Irena Lunskienė (* 1955 in Kazlų Rūda ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician , mayor of the Marijampolė municipality .

Life

After graduating from the Kazlų Rūda Middle School in 1973, Irena graduated from the Vincas Kapsukas State University in Vilnius as a teacher of history and social science in 1981, and from the Kaunas Technical University in 2000 from a master’s degree in administration . 1973–1982 she worked at Vilniaus miesto statybos projektavimo institutas . In 1982 she taught at the Želsva school . 1984-2000 she worked in the agricultural business žemės ūkio bendrovė of Želsvelė . From 2000, she was a local civil servant and head of Liudvinavas District near Marijampolė .

From 1990 she was a member of the Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija , from 2001 Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija . From 2015 to 2017 she was the deputy mayor and since 2017 she has been the mayor of the municipality of Marijampolė .

Lunskienė lives in the village of Želsva .

family

In 1978 Irena was married to the architect Rimvydas Lunskus (* 1952). Lunskienė has been divorced since 1997. Her son Mantas Lunskus (* 1979) works as a security employee in Marijampolė. The daughter Monika Lunskutė (* 1987) is a graduate of English language philology at Marijampolės kolegija and commercial law at Vilniaus verslo teisės akademija in Vilnius.
