Hungary participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics in the Japanese Nagano with a delegation of 17 athletes in six disciplines in part, eight men and nine women. None of the athletes managed to win a medal.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the speed skater Krisztina Egyed .
