Canada participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics in the Japanese Nagano with a delegation of 146 athletes in twelve disciplines in part, of which 83 men and 63 women. With six gold, five silver and four bronze medals, Canada was the fourth most successful nation at the Games.
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the freestyle skier Jean-Luc Brassard .
