Canada took part in the VIII Winter Olympics in 1960 in the US American Squaw Valley Ski Resort with a delegation of 44 athletes in seven disciplines, including 34 men and 10 women. With two gold medals and one silver and one bronze medal, Canada was the seventh most successful nation at the Games.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the figure skater Robert Paul .
