Swarytschiw ( Ukrainian Сваричів , Russian Сварычев Swarytschew , Polish Swaryczów ) is a village in the Ukrainian Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast with about 5000 inhabitants (2004).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1387, is the only place in the district council of the same name in the north of Roschnjatiw Rajon .
Svarychiv is located on the banks of the Limnytsya , a tributary of the Dniester , and borders in the southwest with the district center of Roschnyativ . Territorial road T-09-02 runs through the village . The oblast capital Ivano-Frankivsk is located 55 km east of Swarytschiw.
Personalities
In 1957 the cultural scientist, political scientist and editor Taras Wozniak was born in the village .
