The Limnyzja ( Ukrainian Лі́мниця ; Russian Ломница / Lomniza , Polish Łomnica ) is a right tributary of the Dniester in western Ukraine .

The Limnyzja rises in the Gorgany , a mountain range of the Outer Eastern Carpathians . The Limnyzja flows through the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in a north-easterly direction. In the upper reaches it forms a typical mountain river. The cities of Perehinske and Kalusch lie on the river. Finally, the Limnitsja flows into the Dniester, which flows to the south-east, 2 km west of Halych at Shevchenkoe .

The Limnytsya has a length of 122 km. It drains an area of 1530 km². The river is mainly fed by rainfall. The mean discharge is 28 m³ / s. During floods, runoffs of up to 850 m³ / s can occur. In winter, the river is ice-covered for 23 to 114 days.

The brown trout occurs in the Limnyzja .
