Poland took part in the VIII Winter Olympics in 1960 in the US Squaw Valley Ski Resort with a delegation of 13 athletes in four disciplines, including seven men and six women. In speed skating, Elwira Seroczyńska won silver and Helena Pilejczyk with bronze over 1500 meters, the only medals for Poland at these games.
