The Netherlands participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics in the Japanese Nagano with 28 athletes, ten men and twelve women, some in three sports.

It was the 16th participation of the Netherlands in the Winter Olympics .

Flag bearer

The speed skater Carla Zijlstra carried the flag of the Netherlands during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium , at the closing ceremony it was carried by her team-mate Gianni Romme .

With a total of five gold, four silver and two bronze medals, the Netherlands took 6th place in the medal table .
