Irena Protasewicz

Irena Protasewicz (born June 6, 1946 ) is a Polish pianist and music teacher .

Protasewicz was a student of Wanda Chmielowska at the Katowice Music Academy and completed postgraduate studies with Bolesław Woytowicz . She has performed as a pianist in many cities in Europe and in the USA and made recordings of works by Fryderyk Chopin , Karol Szymanowski , Artur Malawski , Woytowicz and others. She was a professor of piano at the State University of Music (today Fryderyk Chopin University of Music ) in Warsaw. Among other things, the composer Joanna Bruzdowicz was her student.
