Irene Langemann

Irene Langemann (* 1959 in Issilkul , Soviet Union ) is a German filmmaker.

Life

Langemann studied acting and German at the "Shchepkin" theater school in Moscow . From 1980 she worked as an actress, director and playwright. In addition, from 1983 she worked as a presenter and director for Soviet television and from 1986 headed the independent Nasch Theater in Moscow.

In July 1990 Langemann left the Soviet Union and came to Germany with his mother Elisabeth Isaak and son Michael. She first worked as an editor for the international television station Deutsche Welle . She has been working as a freelance filmmaker since 1997. After the millennium, she realized some of her best-known projects for the documentary film production company Lichtfilm GmbH.

Awards

Langemann was awarded the Certificate of Merit at the 2001 San Francisco International Film Festival for her documentary Russia's Wunderkinder , in which she portrays highly gifted children at the Moscow Conservatory . For the documentary film Rubljovka she received the standard audience jury award at the Viennale 2007 and the award for the best camera at the Golden Chest international TV festival 2007 in Bulgaria .
