Irene Maria Sturm

Irene Maria Sturm (born January 22, 1953 in Schwandorf ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Sturm attended secondary school and high school and studied biology. She was a board member of the Schwandorf citizens' initiative against atomic plants and the Bavarian Parents' Association in the Schwandorf district, as well as spokeswoman for the Schwandorf environmental initiative garbage / recycling and the umbrella organization of the Upper Palatinate citizens' initiatives against the construction of atomic plants, and a volunteer in the anti- WAA office. She also belonged to various associations.

In 1987 Sturm became a member of the Greens. She was city and district councilor, district chairwoman and from 1994 to 1998 a member of the Bavarian state parliament .

She is the mother of actress Anna Maria Sturm, who was born in 1982 .
