Irina Wassiljewna Uschakowa ( Russian Ирина Васильевна Ушакова ; born September 29, 1954 in Homel , Belarusian SSR ) is a former Soviet foil fencer .
successes
Irina Uschakowa was world champion with the team in Melbourne in 1979 and also won bronze with the team in 1985 in Barcelona . At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , she entered the battle for the gold medal together with Nailja Giljasowa , Jelena Novikowa , Valentina Sidorova and Larissa Zagarajewa . There the Soviet team was defeated by France 6: 9, so that Ushakova received the silver medal.
