Iris Becher (* 1988 in Buenos Aires ) is a German actress .
Life
From 2009 to 2012 Iris Becher attended the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . During her studies she played her first roles at the Berlin Workers' Theater, among others . In 2011, Becher was engaged at the Deutsches Theater , and since 2013 she has been a member of the Schaubühne ensemble . Well-known pieces in which Becher has been seen so far are Ralph Benatzky's Singspiel Im Weiße Rößl , Der Fremde based on the novel of the same name by Albert Camus , Leonce and Lena by Georg Büchner or Molière's The Imaginary Ill . She played the female title role in William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet in 2013, directed by Lars Eidinger .
Occasionally, Becher also works in front of the camera. For her role in the short film Nachspiel , she received a nomination in the category “Best Actress” at both the Big As Texas Short Film Festival and the Beeston Film Festival in 2016. In 2012 and 2015, Becher, who is a native Spanish speaker in addition to German, appeared in two Spanish cinema productions.
Iris Becher lives in Berlin.
