The Irish Cup 1979/80 was the 100th edition of the Northern Irish soccer cup competition . The first games took place on February 2, 1980, the final on April 26, 1980.

Defending champions Cliftonville FC were eliminated in the round of 16. The title went to Linfield FC for the 32nd time .
