Irmgard Paulis

Irmgard "Irmi" Paulis (born March 16, 1943 in Kremnitz , Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ) is a German stage and television actress and a theater director .

Live and act

Irmgard Paulis came to Germany as a displaced child at the end of the war in 1945. In 1964 she started her stage career as Irmi Paulis in Vienna. Other theater stations included Düsseldorf, Zurich, Frankfurt, Munich, Kiel and Bremen. From 1966 you could see Irmgard Paulis with some medium-sized roles in television productions; in Volker Schlöndorff's Brecht film adaptation of Baal , she played with Johanna in 1969 at Rainer Werner Fassbinder's side . Shortly afterwards Paulis got a permanent role with Jenny in the extremely popular ARD artist series Salto Mortale .

Towards the end of the 1970s she ended her television career and later switched to stage direction, especially at the Bremen Theater and the Theater am Goetheplatz, also located in the Hanseatic city. Her productions include The Basil Girl (1992), Call it Jazz (1992), Aymine and the Pangolin (1994 ), Pooh , the Bear (1995), Teufel Bekkanko (1996), The Jungle Book (1997), Joseph and his brothers (2003, also in 2007 in a guest production at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt), Das kalte Herz (2004), From 1001 Nights (2005) and The miraculous journey of the small knotweed (2006).
