Iron Road for Children
The Iron Road for Children , or IRFC for short , is Austria 's largest brand-open festival weekend for bikes , Vespas and US cars.
Admission to the entire event weekend is free for visitors, instead, under the motto "A heart for children - gasoline in the blood", donations are being collected for sick children from all over Austria.
In addition to trips with the vehicles, numerous live concerts, a children's area and a tattoo area, visitors are also offered a large exhibitor and street food area. The IRFC is an event for the whole family and now has over 25,000 visitors.
background
In 2016, at a joint meeting of the biker friends Mike Reiter and Andy Bäuchl, the idea of organizing a barbecue for bikers in Leoben was born .
The two of them were enthusiastic motorcycle fans and Harley riders at many events at home and abroad, which led to the question: "Why is there really no event of this kind here?"
With the intention to set up a small and manageable party soon, Philipp Maier was brought on board for the organization.
When it turned out in the course of planning that the whole thing was going to get bigger, the three organizers decided to put the event at the service of the good cause.
It was decided that the Iron Road for Children should take place free of charge for all interested parties, but that the gathering should be used to collect donations for sick children.
