Isa Khel (Pakistan)

Isa Khel is a small historic town in the province of Punjab in Pakistan . It is named after a famous leader of the Niazis, Isa Khan, who served as a general under Sher Shah Suri . Isa Khan's mausoleum is a classic architectural monument of its time, has been preserved to this day and can be viewed in New Delhi .

Isa Khel was originally the capital of the Bannu district . When the Northwest Frontier Province (since 2010 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ) split off in 1901, Bannu came there as a district, while Isa Khel remained in the then Punjab Province and was assigned to the newly founded Mianwali district.

Isa Khel is the main town of the Isa Khel sub-tribe of the Niazi Pashtuns . Its head is called Khan and was also known as Nawab during the British rule .
