Isaac Zion Kojo Dogboe (born September 26, 1994 in Accra ) is a British professional boxer and former WBO world champion in super bantamweight. He is ranked second in the world by Ring Magazine . As an amateur, he represented Ghana at the 2012 bantamweight Olympic Games .

Boxing career

Isaac Dogboe, who lives in Great Britain, became English Junior Champion in 2010 and finished second in the English Youth Championships in 2011. For his native Ghana, he took part in the Olympic Games in London in 2012 at the age of 17 , where he was knocked out in the first fight against the Japanese Satoshi Shimizu with a score of 9:10.

He had previously participated in the African Olympic qualification in Casablanca , where he fought his way into the final against Mohamed Hassan, Egypt (15:12), Emilian Polino, Tanzania (19: 9) and Ayabonga Sonjica , South Africa (8: 6), just against Aboubakr Lbida , Morocco (6: 6+) lost and thus achieved second place. In an international match, he also beat the later Olympian Romeo Lemboumba from Gabon. In 2013 he was still the English lightweight champion.

He began his professional career in August 2013. In December 2015, he won the WBO African featherweight championship and defended it three times before moving to super bantamweight. In December 2016 he won the international championship title of the WBO and defended it against Javier Chacon in July 2017.

On January 6, 2018, he defeated Cesar Juarez in the fight for the interim WBO World Championship. He won the regular WBO world title on April 28, 2018 through TKO in the eleventh round against Jessie Magdaleno . He won his first title defense on August 25, 2018 by TKO in the first round against Hidenori Otake.

On December 8, 2018, he lost the title by losing points to Emanuel Navarrete and also lost the rematch on May 11, 2019.
