Isaac Reckitt

Isaac Reckitt (* 1792 ; † 1862 ) was a British chemist . In addition to Johann Benckiser, Reckitt is considered to be the founder of the chemical company Reckitt Benckiser, which is now part of the FTSE 100 Index .

Reckitt bought a mill in Hull in 1840 . Later he expanded the business and graphite was also processed and linen blue was produced. The company flourished and was a notable employer in its region with around 210 employees. The well-known British chemical company Reckitt and Sons emerged from this company.
