Isaac Spratt

Isaac Spratt (* 1799 in Ibsley ; † 1876 ) was an English non-fiction author and toy dealer.

life and work

Isaac Spratt had owned a toy store at 1 Brook Street (later number 18) in London's West End since 1840 . He was married and had four children. In 1856 he registered the first printed rules for croquet . In 1860 he wrote Badminton Battledore , which was a description of the situation in badminton at the time.
