Vadim Chaimovich

Vadim Chaimovich ( Russian Вадим Хаймович ) (born April 29, 1978 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian pianist .

Life

Chaimovich grew up in Vilnius, which was then part of the Soviet Union. At the age of five he received his first piano lessons, at seven he performed with a chamber orchestra within the USSR .

At the age of 13 he won first prize in the international competition “Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte” in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic). Further prizes and awards at international competitions in Lithuania, Poland and Russia followed. Vadim Chaimovich graduated with honors from several conservatoire studies. His teachers were the Frankfurt piano professor Lev Natochenny and the Dresden pianist Peter Rösel , both students of Lew Oborin . International master classes with Claude Frank , Rudolf Kehrer , Gary Graffman and Eugen Indjic perfected his pianistic training.

Chaimovich was honored at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund, Schlern Music Competition in Italy, and William Kapell International Piano Competition in Maryland (USA). He is also the winner of the 29th Masterplayers International Music Competition in Lugano (Switzerland), winner of the 10th international "Web Concert Hall" competition and the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York.

Chaimovich performed at the Merano Festival in Italy, the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Schlern International Music Festival in Italy, the Styraburg Festival in Austria, the Dresden Music Festival , the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Kassel Music Festival . He has also given concerts with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Sinfonietta Dresden , the Dortmund Philharmonic , the Northern Hungarian Symphony, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Bacau and the Central German Chamber Philharmonic. His recording of Edvard Grieg's lyrical piece «Arietta, Op. 12, No. 1 » can be heard in Tom Tykwer's crime television series Babylon Berlin (2017-2018) (season 1 episode 7). His recording of Frédéric Chopin's “Nocturnes in E flat major” is one of the most-clicked classical pieces of music on YouTube with over one hundred and thirty million views (October 2019).
