Isaac Tutumlu

Isaac Tutumlu Lopez (born July 5, 1985 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish - Turkish racing driver with Kurdish descent. He competes in the Porsche Supercup in 2012 .

Career

Tutumlu began his motorsport career in karting in 2002 , where he was active until 2006. In 2007 he switched to touring car racing and finished 30th in the Spanish MitJet Series . In 2008 he won the Catalunya Touring Car Championship . In 2009 he only took part in individual races. He finished eighth in the Super GT classification of the Spanish GT Championship . He also competed in the International GT Open and in the German Porsche Carrera Cup and made five guest starts in the Porsche Supercup . After a one-year break, Tutumlu again took part in some racing series in 2011. Among other things, he started six races in the Superstars Series for Campos Racing . An eleventh place was his best result. As in 2009, he again made guest starts in the Porsche Supercup.

In 2012 Tutumlu first moved to the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) for Proteam Racing . Tutumlu left the WTCC after the fourth race weekend, in which he did not take part in spite of reports of a total write-off on the car. According to his own statements, he had technical problems at every event. An eleventh place was his best result. Tutumlu then returned to the Porsche Supercup, where he entered the series for the second race weekend.

Personal

Tutumlu has Kurdish ancestors. He is Spanish and starts mostly as Isaac Tutumlu with a Spanish license. In 2009 he competed in the Porsche brand cups as Isaac Tutumlu Lopez with a Turkish license.
