Isabell Goetz
Isabell Götz (born October 25, 1957 in Dillingen an der Donau ) is a German family judge. She is currently the presiding judge of the 16th civil senate at the Munich Higher Regional Court . Götz also appears as a legal specialist author, including as editor of Palandt . She has been chairwoman of the German Family Court Congress since 2013 .
Life
Isabell Götz was born on October 25, 1957 in Dillingen an der Donau. After graduating from high school in 1977 at a Munich high school, she studied law from 1977 to 1981 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. After taking the Second State Examination in 1985, Götz began her work in the Bavarian judicial service in 1986, initially as a member of the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice , where she remained until 1989. After a brief stint as a public prosecutor, Götz switched to the Munich District Court as a judge in autumn 1990 . Götz initially worked there as a tenant and civil judge before she took over a position as a family judge on January 1, 2000. From 1993 she also worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Justice in Starnberg. In 2005 Götz was elected deputy chairwoman of the German Family Court Conference. In the following year, 2006, she moved to the Munich Higher Regional Court as a judge and at the same time became a member of the Scientific Association for Family Law . In 2007 Götz started at the University of Mannheim with the subject of maintenance for children of legal age. Thoughts on a reform of the maintenance of relatives, writings on German, European and comparative civil, commercial and procedural law . Since 2011 she has also been teaching family law at the same university. In 2012, she worked as a judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court, when she became deputy chairwoman of the second civil senate at the Munich Higher Regional Court. In 2013 she replaced Gerd Brudermüller as chairman of the German Family Court Conference . On January 15, 2014, Götz received the certificate of appointment as presiding judge at the Higher Regional Court with effect from February 1, 2014. She currently heads the 16th civil senate of the Munich Higher Regional Court.
Scientific work
Since moving to the Munich Higher Regional Court, Isabell Götz has also become increasingly noticeable in specialist legal literature. She mainly publishes on family law issues in relevant specialist journals such as FamRZ , FF or ZKJ. Since 2010 she has been co-editor of the magazine FamRZ , and since April 2012 she has also been a member of the advisory board of the magazine Forum Familienrecht . She is now also a co-author of several commentaries on family law issues. Götz has also made a name for herself as the editor of Palandt . As the successor to Uwe Diederichsen , she has been working on parts of the book on family law since the 72nd edition of the well-known BGB commentary.
