Isabell Schmidt (* 1989 in Greifswald ) is a German pop singer who took second place in the second season of the singing casting show The Voice of Germany in 2012 .

biography

Isabell Schmidt comes from a musical family. At the age of 13 she learned to play the guitar and has also mastered other musical instruments. She was a street musician and performs at events. She is an occupational therapist by profession and works in a clinic in Stralsund .

In 2012 she took part in the second season of the singing casting show The Voice of Germany . In the group of Coach Nena , she prevailed against all competitors and moved into the final on December 14, 2012. Her self-written song Heimweh , performed in the semifinals, sold best of the four participants' published songs in the week before the final show and reached number 33 in the German charts. Since this was factored into the final ranking, she went into the last broadcast with a lead. In the end, she finished second overall behind the Brit Nick Howard . On July 12th, 2013 Isabell Schmidt released her first album Alles hat seine Zeit , which also includes the song OK . With the album she made it to number 47 in the German charts on July 26, 2013.
