Isak ben Jehuda Jüdels

Isak ben Jehuda Jüdels (* 1628 in Prague ; † 1690 in Wilhermsdorf ) came from the Jewish printer family of the Gersonids , received from Wolfgang Julius (Hohenlohe-Neuenstein) on August 27, 1669 the first privilege to set up a Hebrew office in Wilhermsdorf and is in the family tradition of Gerson ben Solomon Kohen Katz .

Life

Isak ben Jehuda Jüdels (also Isaak ben Jehuda Jüdels , Isaak Cohen Jüdels , Isak ben Juda Löb "Jüdel" Katz Gersoni , Isak ben Juda Judles , Isachar (Isaac) Kaz Gersodine , Isaac ben Juda (Loeb) "Jüdel" Kohen , Isaac ben Judah Kohen (Kaz) , Isaak Kohen and Isaak ben Jehuda Löb Jüdel Kohen ) was born as the son of Juda Löb "Jüdels" Katz Gersoni (* 1600). In order to secure a better sales market for his paper mills, the Count von Hohenlohe granted the printer Jüdels permission to run a printing company in Wilhermsdorf. His daughter Reichel, born in Prague, asked Isaac ben Judah Jüdels Katz (1655–1701) worked as a typesetter between 1677 and 1690 in Wilhermsdorf , 1691 in Sulzbach and from 1692 until her death in 1701 in Fürth . She was married to Menachem ben Isaak Jacob Mann (* 1653) who worked as a typesetter and proofreader in Fürth between 1684 and 1688. His son Abraham ben Issachar Katz Gersoni (1657–1693), born in Prague, worked in Wilhermsdorf from 1679 and from 1684 in Fürth and Sulzbach in printing. From 1686 until his death in 1693 he worked in Prague. The works, which were printed in Yiddish and Hebrew, covered theology, medicine, ethics, sagas and legends.
