Isarrun

The Isarrun (organized in 2004 under the name Isarlauf ) is a landscape run based on the model of the Spreelauf . The stages - ultramarathon leads about 330 kilometers on bike and hiking trails along the Isar .

The idea of ​​hosting a landscape run in his home country came from the organizer Ulrich Welzel after he had successfully participated in the Spreelauf 2000 and was able to collect some ideas in the organization - also at the Transeuropalauf 2003. After the Deutschlandlauf and the Spreelauf, the Isarlauf is the third stage run in Germany and Ulrich Welzel is the second established organizer of ultramarathons of this kind alongside Ingo Schulze.

In 2007 the "Isarrun" took place for the last time for the time being. Following the example of the event, the "Baltic Run" was held for the first time in summer 2008. This is also a five-day landscape run. The start was on Alexanderplatz in Berlin, destination was Karlshagen on Usedom.
