Ischnocnema nanahallux is a frog from the family of the saddleback toads (Brachycephalidae). He lives in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil .

features

The head-torso length is 13.1 to 14.2 millimeters in males and 14.3 to 16.9 millimeters in females. The head is wider than it is long. The finger discs are small and slightly pointed. The first toe is reduced. There are well-developed, thorny tubercles. The dorsal surface of the toe discs has a deep V-shaped gap in the middle. The eardrum cannot be seen externally.

Occurrence

Systematics

Ischnocnema nanahallux was in 2013 by Francisco Brusquetti , Maria Tereza C. Thomé , Clarissa Canedo , Thais Helena Condez and Célio Fernando Baptista Haddad first described . The species belongs to the Ischnocnema parva species group which, besides I. nanahallux, only includes I. parva and I. pusilla . The name nanahallux is derived from the Latin words nanus for dwarf and hallux for toe , which refers to the reduced first toe.
