Iskra (satellite)
Iskra was the name of three Soviet amateur radio satellites from the Ordzhonikidze Aviation Institute in Moscow.
On 10 July 1981, Iskra 1 in Baikonur Cosmodrome launched. Iskra 2 was released into space from the Salyut 7 space station on May 17, 1982 , as was Iskra 3 on November 18, 1982.

The satellites had their uplink in the 15-meter band and the downlink in the 10-meter band . They were therefore designed for radio amateurs of the Eastern Bloc , the majority of whom had no equipment for higher amateur bands .
Iskra 2 was the first satellite ever launched from a space station.
