The Islote Bonert ( Spanish ) is next to Terminal Island the smaller and more northerly of the two islands off Cape Arauco at the northern end of the Alexander I Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named her after Federico Bonert Holzapfel, deputy head of this research trip and visiting scientist of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941).
