Ismaël Bangoura (born January 2, 1985 in Conakry ) is a Guinean football player and currently active as a striker for Al-Raed FC . He belongs to the Susu ethnic group .
Club career
Bangoura played the last years of his youth in Guinea with Athlético Etoile de Coléah . In 2003 he was discovered by the Corsican club Gazélec FCO Ajaccio and moved to France. After two seasons and 15 goals in 44 league appearances, he moved to Ligue 1 club UC Le Mans . He made his debut in the French top division on November 5, 2005 and contributed a goal in the 3-0 win over Olympique Marseille . After six goals in the first season at Le Mans, he and the Brazilian Grafite formed a dangerous duo in the second . Like his strike partner, he scored twelve goals and was third on the top scorers list.
On July 5, 2007, Bangoura signed a five-year contract with the Ukrainian top club Dynamo Kiev . The transfer fee should have been around five million euros. Bangoura managed to find her way straight away. He was fifth-top scorer in the Ukrainian league in his first season with 15 goals and also scored two of Dynamo Kiev's four goals in the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League . In his second season at Kiev he was the second top scorer with 13 league goals and thus had his share in winning the championship.
For the 2009/10 season he moved back to France. For a transfer fee of around ten million euros, Stade Rennes secured the attacker, who signed a four-year contract.
In September 2010 he moved to Al-Nasr Sports Club from Dubai for eight million euros . In January 2012 he returned to France for the then second division club FC Nantes . In the 2012/13 season he was loaned to Umm-Salal SC in Qatar , but returned there in the summer of 2013 after Nantes was promoted to Ligue 1 .
National team career
Bangoura made his debut for the Guinea national team in 2005 . In 2006 he reached the quarter-finals of the African Championship with his country selection . In 2008 he was also in his country's squad.
