Isophya is agenus of locusts from the subfamily of the sickle horror (Phaneropterinae).

features

The animals often seem a little clumsy. The length of the antennas is roughly one and a half times the length of the body. In the males, the pronotum is usually stronger at the back, in the females, on the other hand, it is little or not at all enlarged. The elytra are scale-shaped (micropter). In male animals, the base is almost completely free and the stridulation vein is always clearly visible, in female animals the elytra are only slightly covered at the base. In males, the cerci are always curved and there is usually a simple tooth at the apex. The subgenital plate of the males is more or less well-sanded. The ovipositor is curved and toothed at the apex . The goangulum either rests ventrally in the lamella or it is fused with it. Isophya species usually have different shades of green as the basic color. In addition, they can be covered to a greater or lesser extent with reddish-brown points, especially dorsally.
