Istvan Boros

István Boros [ ˈiʃtvaːn ˈboroʃ ] (* 1908 or 1909; † 1994 ) was a Hungarian table tennis player . He became team world champion with Hungary in 1933.

At the national Hungarian championships Boros won a title three times: in 1933 in doubles with Béla Nyitrai and in mixed with Mária Mednyánszky and in 1938 in doubles with Victor Barna .

Before the Second World War, Boros took part in nine world championships for Hungary from 1929 . In 1933 he won the gold medal with the Hungarian team.

After the war he emigrated to England, under whose flag he took part in his tenth World Cup in 1949 .

Boros was honorary president of the Swaythling Club International . Most recently he lived in London.
