István Bubik (1978)

István Bubik [ ˈiʃtvaːn ˈbubik ] (born May 19, 1958 in Budapest ; † November 28, 2004 ) was a Hungarian actor .

After graduating from the Budapest Academy of Film and Drama, he was a member of the Hungarian National Theater. From 1993 (after a short stay in London) he played in the Művész Theater in Budapest (later the Thália Theater ). Since 1998 he has been a member of the New Theater (Új Színház) Budapest. He was awarded the Jászai Mari Prize, the Rajz János Prize and the Farkas Ratkó Prize for his acting achievements.

He gave all the major hero roles of Hungarian and world literature, played leading roles in various rock operas . He was known for his sensitive, explosive style.

Major roles: Mercutio (Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet ), Ádám ( Imre Madách : The Tragedy of Man ), Mackie Messer (Brecht-Weill: Threepenny Opera ), Lennie (Steinbeck: Of Mice and People ).

In 1997 , Bubik starred in his first television film, Ballon mort . Bubik became known in 1998 with Dario Argento's film " The Phantom of the Opera ". He then shot the film " A Touch of Sunshine " in 1999 (director: István Szabó ). His last film was in 2003 the film "Szent Iván Napja".

Bubik had been married to the singer Tünde Rémi since 1992 and was the father of their daughter Réka Hajnalka, who was born in 2000 .

István Bubik was killed in a car accident.
