Italian dressing is a salad dressing used in modern international cuisine. The basic recipe corresponds to a classic vinaigrette .

For the preparation, mild mustard is mixed with freshly squeezed garlic . This mass is whipped with red wine vinegar and olive oil . It is seasoned with salt, pepper and a little sugar. At the end, freshly chopped herbs such as basil and oregano are added.
