Italiana Coke is the largest Italian coking plant . The annual production is 500,000 tons of coke .

The factory in Cairo Montenotte has been in operation since 1937. The Italiana Coke company was founded in 1980 through the merger of Cokerie Italiane Indipendenti, Cokitalia, Fornicoke, Vetrocoke and Cokapuania.

The coke produced is exported worldwide. The coal and coke are transported by cable car between the port in Savona and the factory in Cairo Montenotte- Bragno .
