The Itkulsee ( Russian Иткуль , Chakkasisch : Ит кӧл) is an outflow-free freshwater lake in the Russian Republic of Khakassia .
The 30.1 km² (according to other sources 23.3 km²) large oval-shaped lake is located three kilometers southwest of the Shemchuschny settlement and the Shirasee in the Shira district , and five kilometers west of the city of Shira . Tributaries are Karysch, Karassuk and Tjoplaja. Both lakes, Itkulsee and Shirasee, are located in the Khakassia nature reserve .
