The Shirasee ( Russian озеро Шира , ósero Schirá) is a meromictic lake in Khakassia , southern Siberia , Russia .
The Schemchuschny settlement is on the south-west bank . Lake Shiraz is 340 km from Krasnoyarsk and 160 km from Abakan . The largest lake in Khakassia, Lake Beljo, is 20 km away from Lake Shiraz . The water level can fluctuate by 4.5 m. The lake is covered by a layer of ice between November and the end of April.
